He is a bodybuilding legend, he is 50 years old and he's back. He is Vince Taylor. The Masters Mr. Olympia made a comeback last year at the Australian G.P. and in doing so, qualified for the Mr. Olympia where he finished just outside of the top 10 in 11th place. Taylor openly admits that he hadn't trained with urgency to qualify for the Mr. Olympia; it was just too simply get his feet wet again. That paddle turned into a big splash and now "The Quiet Storm" is going about his business to display a critical condition and to acquire a more a significant body count than in 2006. "I decided to compete in the Australian G.P. last minute to test the waters before putting my name on the map. I have a line of gym equipment that I will be promoting and I thought it would be easier to do so if I am a current competitor out on the circuit.
Things happened quicker than anticipated and less than a year later I have competed in the Olympia and about to relive the Arnold Classic again. Prior to last years shows I was only eating three meals per day so lets see what we can do when I put my mind to it," said Taylor.
Vince has mixed it with the big guns more times than my mum has caught me wearing her clothes (come on, we have all done it... haven't you?).
The 50 year old veteran showed that he may not be the biggest guy on stage but we all know that he could well be the sharpest. In Australia, many said that no one would have had a problem with Taylor taking out top honors and "The Mind", Milos Sarcev, who was also present down under stated that his condition alone should have had him higher up the ranking ladder.
In recent years the Arnold Classic pattern has meandered towards the more symmetrical, balanced and pleasing physique over the monster dimensions of mass.
With Vince Taylor standing alongside contenders such as Phil Heath and Dexter Jackson, we may well find that the "Quiet Storm" could disturb the outlook of the weary that peering at others around them. And remember, only the Bodybuilding.com live web cast will be able to show you that outcome - LIVE!
