The use of certain supplements can greatly enhance the transformation process in many ways, such as increasing metabolism, curbing hunger and adding energy in the gym. But a lot of the products sold for that purpose are hyped and sometimes not worth the cost as well as being misleading. Making smart choices as an educated consumer means not "jumping on the bandwagon" for every new supplement seen in magazines. The majority of consumers out there (more than 80%) buying supplements still don't have a clue as to what works and what doesn't work regarding what is available.
Unless people become educated consumers, they will never know the difference and will be among the people who get suckered into throwing their money at worthless products. Unfortunately there are so many supplements on the market, that it's hard to determine which product is best for your goals and your money. What exactly are these supplements supposed to do and how much of them should you use? I know I'm just like everyone else when it comes to buying products. You want to get the "best bang for your buck". We have all thrown our money away on useless over-hyped supplements. But there are many products out there if used properly can give you results the results you are looking for. The more I learn about supplements amazes me - if I knew now what I knew before - would it have changed my progress? I'm sure it would of decreased the time it took me to lose over 100lbs. The amazing advances range with the addition of new and exciting supplements to meet the ever-changing needs of the industry and its consumers. Supplements by themselves will in no way get you the body you want to create. No way. There is a tremendous value in real food. But by adding the proper supplements to your "transformation stack" - it will give you results sooner. Since time is the most valuable thing a person can spend.
Manufacturers such as Nutrex, S.A.N., VPX and Cytodyne just to name a couple have all created slightly different variations of thermogenics. I'd recommend a product that delivers a full dose in 3-4 capsules. This way, you can ease yourself into it by beginning with a quarter of the recommended dosage at 3-4 times a day.
Before, stimulant-free fat burners lagged far behind their stimulant-based cousins in effectiveness. Now there's a credible alternatives like Syntrax MM4, BioQuest Tetrazene & S.A.N. Blaze.
Some use a blend of ingredients that expand in your stomach - making you feel full so that you won't have to eat as much food to satisfy your hunger. Some also slow the rate that nutrients enter your bloodstream, which supports normal blood sugar levels and fortunately reduces your food cravings.
In addition, some weight loss appetite suppressants like Avant Labs H.E.A.T. Stack also increase your metabolic rate (the rate at which your body burns calories).
Carb Blocker products such as IDS Carb Shuttle & Absolute Nutrition Cblock are similar to fat blockers except they work on carbohydrates instead of fat. Most carb blocker products will also contain Chromium Picolinate or Alpha Lipoic Acid to regulate insulin and reduce sugar cravings. During times when you eat meals that are high in fats and carbs there are products that combine the fat & carb blocking ingredients such as Fizogen Cheat Tabs & BSN Cheaters Relief.
There are products that offer a combination of results - energy, pumps, added strength, mental focus and intensity. Products like BSN NO-Xplode & Syntrax Swole V.2 do all of this while providing sugar-free flavors!
Some of these healthy fats can trigger fat burning rather than fat storage. (GLA) is a type of Omega 6 - It activates brown fat, the type of fat in the body that speeds up fat metabolism and helps in the burning of excess calories as heat. You can also use CLA, a more specialized healthy fat that has been shown to enhance immunity, repartition calories, and lower bodyfat.
With meal replacement supplements, you can substitute some meals and still get a nutritious and balanced meal. If your like me I usually take a shaker bottle everywhere - so MRP powders such as Dymatize Dyma-Lean come in pretty handy. If you don't have a shaker bottle use RTD's (ready to drink) like Myoplex Carb Sense or MRP bars like EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control Bars.
A good quality multivitamin and mineral would form the foundation for your transformation. B vitamins provide a myriad of health benefits. Chromium is needed for the metabolism of sugar and without it insulin is less effective in controlling blood sugar levels. Zinc is an important mineral in appetite control and a deficiency can cause a loss of taste and smell, creating a need for stronger tasting foods which tend to be sweeter, saltier, and more fattening!
There are hundreds of whey protein products on the market today. Use the Protein Finder to find one that works for you based on price, grams and serving size.
When it comes to these supplements, balance is key. When you're deciding on a product, think about the meaning of the word supplement. It means "in addition to" or as a "complement," not a replacement. The key to shedding body fat fast are to use these products to supplement your meal plan and workout routine.
Supplements are only responsible for a fraction of the results you achieve. Most of your results will come from intense training and healthy nutrition. Also, taking a multivitamin may make up for the B vitamins in your spinach, or the vitamin C in an orange, and a serving of berries. But it will not replace the fiber and wide assortment of phytochemicals, the disease-fighting compounds from plant foods.
