I had some stretch marks on the front sides of my stomach - but as the weight was coming off they were got lighter. I did use some lotion that seemed to help some. - DMAE (tones skin) & Vitamin E.
Everyone is different and they have different goals. I'm 100% sure what you did was just as amazing! You should be very proud and not compare someone else's accomplishments with your own. That's when people start to over look personal achievements. Be proud man!
Seriously I have become a new person... and that's not BS. I have not met one person that knew me before that has ever told me that I have not impressed them. My friends & family really are proud of me from what I have achieved (not just by losing the weight). From what I have achieved after losing weight and the determination that it takes I have learned a lot about achieving goals! - But I did it for myself, not to make someone else feel better or look at me different.
For the longest time I didn't really let too many people know about this. (except for the people around me that new). I just did it and I'm not really a guy that likes attention.
Just a question: did you have the biggest cheat meal/day of your life once you reached a particular goal?
I laid on the beach and drank pina coladas and mud slides all day and had as much seafood and desserts that I could take - some nights going back for cheesecake 5 times! But when I got home I only gained 6 pounds, and that came off pretty fast.
I started off somewhere close to where you were, 261.5 lbs, 40% body fat. I'm down to 209 23.5% now, but I still have a very long way to go, though I've only been doing this for 5 months. You are right when you say you must change your mindset. I scrounge around the internet looking for before and after photos of guys that were my size in the before and then really good looking in the after photos. I had never really found any to satisfy my hopes and dreams. And seeing other guys here with before and after pics... all of their afters look amazing, but I think most of their befores look good too! That never really motivated me, because I see these guys that seem in good shape to begin with just getting in better shape, and not huge guys getting into great shape. I just couldn't relate. Well, your before is very similar to what I was, and your after is absolutely amazing. I always figured that since I got so big I would never be able to get a good body, no matter how hard I tried. But I guess that idea is out of my head now after seeing you. I mean... what can I say but "Wow." The fact you did this all while being successful in business also amazes me. I've dedicated myself to the field of science, and figured that all the great looking guys must devote themselves to training several hours everyday to get to where they were, and that was out of the question for me if I wanted to do what I do. You make it sound simple and simply a matter of determination.
Well anyway, I can't say enough how inspiring this is to me. In fact, I look forward to waking up tomorrow just so I can exercise and be one step closer to a day I may even be half as successful as you have been. Once again... wow.
The transformation I had was something that I did not expect. Going into it I had no clue what I was going to look like. I just knew if I stuck with it I would drop the weight & feel better about myself. If you loose any weight your appearance is going to change. You're going to feel amazing because you will see yourself everyday and know how good you look. You're going to have this "glow" about you. Because you will know what you have achieved! Everything is going to be better. The way you dress, the way you talk to girls/guys, the way you walk into a room... I feel that if someone is dedicated to working out - you can parlay that into business and be successful at both. I would suggest not stopping at loosing weight but also going after ever single one of your goals in life!
You truly are an inspiration to not just people that are looking to lose weight or get fitter, but to everyone as a whole. I cannot express enough on what you have achieved and thank you for sharing your experience with others. Outstanding!
I seem to do good during the year but when I go out of town or during holidays. From Halloween to New Years I fall off the bandwagon. Do you have any tips for during these tough times? During the school year it's not hard to stay on track cause my days are so structured and but during that time period every year it's like I go from being in the best shape of my life to gaining 25 pounds.
I start to eat like crap and I feel if I'm not eating correctly why work out. I am determined for this not to happen this year. Any tips would be really appreciated. Again keep up the good work
Next, how do you deal with chicks? Example: A girl I know that never gave me the damn time of day, all of the sudden was all over me after seeing me a few months later, I told her to get lost. I used to be the opposite of you, the skinny kid. I would consider myself a good looking guy too, with brains to back it up also. The thing is, it just pisses me that here I am putting in hard work @ the gym, school, and my career (engineering); while all these chicks are out partying away and whoring around. Just has caused me to pretty much despise girls now (no, I'm NOT gay) that I have changed a lot and can get many girls I could never have before. Just shows you how shallow bitches are. What are your takes on this?
Honestly I really enjoy meeting new girls and going on the first couple of dates. The first of everything is always the most memorable, that's what I enjoy. The girls in the past are exactly that. I wouldn't worry too much about her or any of the girls that might not work out in the long run. If you want short term, then it doesn't take much to find those types of girls. The ones you want to keep are the toughest to find. My advice - continue to work out, hit the books at school hard and when you least expect it you will meet someone that will blow your mind.
To build muscle and lose body fat I believe you need to find your calories needed each day and make sure you're not going greatly under or over & keep weight training heavy so that muscle is stimulated to grow. If you do not force muscle to grow by lifting heavy and intense, it will not grow.
One of the reasons I stay pretty lean is because the girls I date tell me they prefer the "leaner/muscular" build. My goal is too continually build muscle and grow, but none of this muscle stuff comes FAST - take "fast" out of your bodybuilding jargon. Replace it with perseverance, endurance and patience and don't think of building your chest apart from building the rest of your body - Training the entire body with chest (for example) as your favorite muscle group won't assure symmetry and greater overall systemic muscle growth...
