The purpose of protein is to either get extra calories in your diet or to be used as a meal-replacement when you're in a rush. Also, protein supplementation may be used in place of an unhealthy meal, which would be detrimental to an individual seeking an improved physique.
Furthermore, this whey protein has a high protein content per scoop. More importantly, it has ingredients that blow away most of the other competition. Most notably, this whey protein has low fat, low sugar and high protein per scoop.
My name is Steven and the product I am reviewing is called 100% Whey Gold Standard and is produced by Optimum / Optimum Nutrition. The flavor I was given to review is called Caramel Toffee Fudge. For those who are addicted to gourmet coffees from places such as Seattle Coffeehouse or Starbucks, go right ahead, just buy the Mocha Cappuccino flavor instead which has enough caffeine. Also if you need more caffeine then you would obviously add more.
For this flavor, the following nutritional information has been extracted on a 32g scoop basis: 24g of protein, 5.5g of BCAAs, 4g glutamine & precursors. Each pound provides 14 servings. I would say the taste was quite good as it was not too rich but it was also not too bitter. It was a nice change from all the supplements that only come in chocolate, vanilla or strawberry. For each cup of milk it is probably good to have one scoop but not a heaping scoop. That was my optimum flavor / taste. However, the more you add the better it tastes! It even tastes better than the other flavor I have tried which was Mocha Cappuccino, but the trade off is no caffeine. Regarding all their standard flavors, the importance of hydrowhey which goes into this product is the fact that hydrowhey hydrolyzed whey peptides are pure whey proteins that have been partially broken down or hydrolyzed into fragments called peptides.
Because of their smaller size, whey peptides are more rapidly digested and readily absorbed than intact proteins. So, they are exceptionally useful when taken before and immediately after training. That is why you will find them in every jug of the industry's leading protein on the market. I recommend you start with the one pound bottle if you prefer any of these other cool flavors: mocha cappuccino, orange cream or root beer float. If you are adamant for more flavors such as apple pie, banana cream, chocolate malt, chocolate mint, cookies n' cream, delicious strawberry, double rich chocolate, eggnog, extreme milk chocolate, French vanilla créme, rocky road, strawberry banana, sugar cookie, tropical punch or vanilla ice cream then be sure to order the two pound bin. There are additional flavors if you order any five pounds bins.

My name is Steven and the product I am reviewing is the Mocha Cappuccino flavor of "100% Whey Gold Standard" produced by Optimum Nutrition. This product has enough caffeine so for those who are addicted to gourmet coffees that normally cost $3 per cup, please save your money and just buy this product instead. In addition, those who spend even $3 for two cups would find beneficial value in this product as it works out to a lot less than that on a per serving basis. Not only that but it also tastes a lot better than any tea.
Based on prices and the vast amount of flavors, I recommend buying 1 pound quantities of this product until you find out which flavor is your favorite. One you choose a flavor favorite, you would be more confident to buy the tub that weighs five pounds which is the best value by far. From my experiences, the ones I like the best are Banana Cream, Chocolate Malt, Double Rich Chocolate, Extreme Milk Chocolate, Mocha Cappuccino, Rocky Road and Strawberry Banana. As for my other experiences with this product, I found them to be quite positive. For instance, by mixing Mocha Cappuccino flavor with the Chocolate flavor of casein powder protein, this 100% Whey Gold Standard flavor neutralized the awful taste of the casein supplement.
Furthermore, my lifting experience was also positive. After using this product for seven days consecutively, I was able to do more repetitions of each of the five angles, of using the new and improved Iron Gym, than I would have otherwise if I had not supplemented the workout with this nutritional supplement. This Iron Gym can be bought on eBay and when you do combine exercises using all five grips to doing pushups and dips that is also offers, this product does your entire upper body. I also take into consideration the effect you receive after consuming the product which could be best described as a feeling of fullness. As for the Iron Gym, make sure if you buy it that you buy the new one with a lot more grip positions. I talk about this apparatus during this review because if you do not exercise, there is not much point in consuming protein. Also, as this supplement has a wide variety of tastes, which is useful for one who wishes to keep things simple and stick to this stuff as the main source of protein.
Based on the Nutrition Facts as well, I would recommend that this product be rated a 9 out of 10. I also pass along this knowledge I gained from one of the sellers of this nutritional supplement: To encourage a positive nitrogen balance, consume approximately 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day from a combination of high protein foods and supplements. For even better results, consume your daily protein allotment over 4-6 small meals spread evenly throughout the day.
I would like to add this note: If you consume this product often, buy other flavors so that you do not get sick of the same flavor over and over again.
