Returning To The Gym With A Child
Now that Avery is old enough to play in the gym's nursery while I work out, things have gotten much easier; however, there are those days that I am not able to make it to the gym for one of the million reasons parents can't always keep to a strict schedule with a child.
Or for those mothers who are away from their children all day and want to get a workout in when they get home from work, but don't want to take more time out from their children.
Keep The Entire Family In Good Physical Condition:
- Baby Jogger
Just as effective as it was when Avery was younger, a build up from walking to jogging over the course of a few months is a great excercise.
- Dancing
Avery loves to dance! She turns on her CD player every morning, grabs her bunny and a stuffed animal of choice for me and we dance to all different types of songs.

The Power Of Music!
No doubt about it, music is a powerful tool and one that should be taken advantage of. At the same time, music should be used judiciously for optimal performance.

- Aerobics Tapes Or Fit TV
Avery will try to do anything that Mommy is doing, so if I'm following a workout on TV, she'll try to follow along. I may need to stop and help her every once in a while, but it is so much fun to watch her that I really don't mind.
- Going To The Park
There are many things that you can do at the park with your children. I go down the slides and climb on the equipment with her. I also have chin up challenges with my husband while Avery plays in the wood chips.
- Playing Chase
We all know that we can run faster than our toddlers, but they don't know that. My little one loves to be chased. I will run in place or run past her until I'm ready to catch her. She will also chase me.
This gives me a great opportunity to work on my reaction drills. We also play chase with our dogs. They're a little bit faster than the baby.
- Playing W/ Ball
Avery loves to play with any kind of ball. We kick and throw them together and we even take some swings at the driving range.
- Using Baby's Weight
Still just as much fun for baby and those growth spurts make an even better workout for mommy!
- Sit-ups
