My name is Markus Kaulius, and I am Magnum. I owned a small chain of supplement stores in the early 2000s, and I always sold with a personal guarantee.
I wasn't satisfied with the products on the market and the overall customer satisfaction and reviews of the products I was selling. I felt there was a gap in the market that a Premium brand could fill, so in January of 2005, Magnum was born.

As hokey as this may sound to some people, I have to first and foremost show my appreciation to God. My brother and father have been major influences in my life as well. My father escaped to Canada when he was just a boy and he instilled in us a solid work ethic, and to never expect anything you don't work for, to never take anything for granted.
I started my first business with my brother when I was 17. Both my father and brother taught me critical business lessons daily; they showed me the importance of balance between business and personal life (often I learned from their bad example)!

With his 20-plus years experience in our industry, working for some of the biggest companies out there, Magnum continues to hit new heights.

Magnum has worked diligently on marketing through grass roots methods, magazine advertising and social media.
For the past 5 years we have advertised in most magazines, including: FLEX, Muscle and Fitness, Status Fitness, Muscle Insider, MD, Musclemag, Inside Fitness, and others. We found we received lots of recognition and awareness from our heavy presence in Status.
It helped us get global brand recognition including distribution in 41 countries, many of which Magnum is a leading brand. Quality marketing is something that has been important to the growth and success of Magnum.
I am a Christian man who met my wife at church (big surprise)! We have two amazing little girls and live in a quiet suburb of Vancouver, BC, Canada.
I am a serious athlete and I demand more from my body every day. I train with weights, TRX, spin, yoga, tires, ropes, and anything else I can get a burn from. I practice what I preach and I believe in supplementation to the extreme.

Worst: I wish more companies focused on integrity and accountability. Companies cheating on labels, "dusting" ingredients, and simply making choices they know will negatively affect the customer and the industry.
I really don't want to come off high and mighty here - there are some good people running some good companies, but I have seen some ugly things and we have all tried a creatine that we know had nothing "active" in it, or an "isolate" that made us run to the bathroom. Come on.
On a positive note, this leaves a gap in quality where clients recognize brands that do focus on quality and helps us stand out that much more.
Best: This industry has produced some amazing humans! There are a few athletes whose energy, aura, personality and charisma envelop you, infect you, intoxicate you, and you feel like hitting the gym right then and there.
A few of my favorites: Mike O'Hearn, James Ellis, Jamie Eason, and Jerome "Hollywood" Ferguson. Anyone who knows these people know exactly what I am talking about!
