A Poem For Vicki Denise Ingram

From John To Vicki:

With all those fish in the sea, who could have guessed? I landed myself a giant Tuna, what us bodybuilders know best.

Her name was Vicki, a bodybuilder of the week, Competing in such a sport, this girl couldn't be weak.

This competitor wasn't from across the sea, this girl was right from home. Plain old Halifax, Nova Scotia, not some far off place like Rome.

What started off as praise for representing us on the sport's most popular website, Blossomed in to a relationship of pure friendship, love and utter delight.

In such a short time, we have been through quite a lot, Turbulent winds have tried to shake us, but we've still stood our spot.

Our relationship goes beyond flexing muscles and weighing our food, It is a lifestyle that secludes many, deeming us sometimes rude.

What were the chances that I found the girl of my dreams? Only minutes away, but without her seemed like an eternity.

Our dreams to go see the Olympia will someday come true, Dexter, Jay, Victor and even the Sandow too!

Wesley has accepted you to be a part of his life, I guess that would make you a yummy mummy on top of being my wife.

I'm putting myself out there, for millions to see, Vicky Denise Ingram, will you take my hand and marry me?

How We Met

I thought really long and hard about an original idea to propose to my girlfriend Vicki. Some people propose in the location where they met, others like to do it in front of a large audience. I, along with the team from Bodybuilding.com, had an idea. Why not propose where the two met and in front of the largest bodybuilding audience in the world?

One day at work, I was looking over the amateur bodybuilder of the week profiles. As I was browsing through them, I was instantly mezmorized by Vicki Ingram's profile.

I had sent her an email to congratulate her on her accomplishments and told her it was nice to see a fellow Nova Scotian representing the Province on the most popular bodybuilding site ever developed.

Her reply was a typical reply to fan mail at first, but we soon realized we had several common friends and acquaintances in the bodybuilding community. Before we knew it we hit it off. We realized that we were meant for each other and fell in love instantly. In less than a week we were living together. It was definitely not the typical time a relationship develops but we both knew what was right. To live with somebody that has the same passion, interests and especially eating regimen is a definite plus.

I've been into fitness for the past decade, working in various gyms and am currently working with the Canadian Forces as a Sports Coordinator. I plan on competing in my first show on April 19, 2008. Vicki has been competing the past 3 years. We both plan to do the Provincials in April and the Atlantics one week later in New Brunswick. Together we will make an unstoppable team both inside and outside the bodybuilding community.
