How Did You Get Started?
My father was always physically active and that helped motivate me to get involved with fitness and exercise. I studied Kung Fu for several years. That is when I started working out with weights to build up my size and strength. I got serious about bodybuilding when I was 14 years old and I loved it. I would read every bodybuilding and fitness book and magazine that I could get my hands on. I would record every bodybuilding contest that was on television and watch them over and over again.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I get the best results by sticking to basic heavy lifting. I do have a couple of special shock routines that I will use every few months to add variety to my workouts. But I mostly focus my workouts around the 3 basic exercises; the bench press, squat, and dead lift. I usually do one of the basic exercises and a few other assistant exercises that work that bodypart.
A sample chest workout would be:
5 sets of bench presses
3 sets of dips
3 sets of incline dumb bell flyes
That is it, nothing fancy but it gets the job done. Each workout I try to get one more rep then I did for my last workout or I will add a few pounds and try for the same number of reps. I used to do things such as forced reps, negatives, etc. but I find that they caused me to over train. Now I just do straight sets.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Creatine is by far my favorite supplement. I have lots of energy and get great pumps when I am taking Creatine. I also take protein powder and multi-vitamins. I find that these supplements provide energy for my workouts and help to keep me healthy.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love bodybuilding because it has helped me not only physically but mentally as well. Bodybuilding has helped me to develop discipline and high self-esteem. I feel much better about myself when I am working out regularly and eating healthy. I love big muscles. I like feeling big and strong. I like to see my muscles get pumped up when I workout, it is a natural high for me.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan to keep on making steady gains in size and strength. My present goal is to compete in and win some of the local bodybuilding contests. I have already won my weight division at the local bodybuilding championships, now I want to win the overall.
I am also constantly working on improving my bodybuilding and fitness web site http://totalfitness.hypermart.net. I am able to help a lot of bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts with training and nutrition through my web site and I am planning on helping many more in the future.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Set goals and work hard to achieve them. I have found through personal experience that there is nothing that gives me so much satisfaction as setting a goal and working hard to achieve it. This applies to every area of life whether it be bodybuilding, school, business, or anything. To me goal setting is the foundation of success.
